Job Description
Job Purpose:
 
Delivery of Category Management initiatives within the procurement function to optimize procurement spend and capitalise partnership opportunities optimize procurement spend capitalise partnership opportunities.
 
Core Accountabilities:
 
Strategy and Performance Management - Develop and implement a Category Management Strategy. Delivering category management initiatives to the highest standards as expected of Expo 2020. Data gathering of key supply chain reporting data and delivering action plans.
Day-to-day Management - Identification of Category Management and Partnership opportunities. Establishment of a Category Management Strategy to capture opportunities Delivering procurement activities against the strategy document.
Contract Management - Ensure that contract creation, execution and analysis are carried out for maximizing operational and financial performance and minimizing risk. Contribute to the establishment, implement and manage the standard contract tendering and contractual documentation. Monitor transaction compliance (milestone, deliverables, invoicing, etc.) to ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled. Maintain Contractual records & documentation and ensure Contract close out, extension or renewal.
Project Delivery and Completion - Contribute to the procurement strategy document for key projects, disseminate to the team and report progress to ensure alignment to Expo 2020's overall strategy and objectives. Manage the category management process including procurement scheduling activities, scoping and tendering packages, evaluation, negotiation, finalisation and production of robust documentation in order to ensure compliance to set procurement policies and processes. Provide regular exception and performance reporting on resource and operational issues across all assignment to ensure any performance deviations are addressed in a timely manner.
Savings and Initiatives - Implement effective cost management techniques and initiatives, and drive cost saving strategic initiatives to ensure that Expo 2020 gets best value for each dirham spend. Manage pricing and contract negotiations in line with changing business requirements.
Vendor Management - Monitor and report on supplier performance, and facilitate regular performance reviews with stakeholders in order to assess value and quality of supplier services / products and inform decision-making on future collaborations. Maintain and regularly update qualified business suppliers' database, in line with Expo 2020 business needs, to ensure data on suppliers is easily stored, accessed and retrieved.
Relationship Management - Establish and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders to  ensure engagement in all activities and support for procurement strategy.
Policies and Procedures - Manage the implementation of the procurement function policies, processes and procedures to ensure fulfilment of legislative / procedure requirements and alignment to operations.
Subordinates Supervision.
EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) - Comply with all relevant environment, health and safety procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Continuous Improvement - Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of procurement processes and practices taking into account 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Ad-hoc Requests - Perform any other related duties or assignments as directed.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
 
• Degree Qualified in relevant discipline.
• MCIPS or equivalent preferable.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant field; 2 years of which in managerial position.
